Hello. Welcome to Our Nursery page. In Nursery you will find our team Pollyanna, Liz, Jo and Karen. We love helping our children to learn in many different ways. We have lots of independent learning time both inside and out. We also work together to do directed activities including maths and phonics, cooking, forest school and story making.

To help with smooth transitions, each child has a key person to support them and their own small group area.

Term 5

On Tuesday 16th May the Early Years team set up a junk modelling event for Nursery and Reception children and their families. The children and their families had a great time creating models together and produced some lovely robots, rockets, vehicles and in particular an outfit for a cuddly toy!

We would like to thank all families for taking part and look forward to welcoming you to our teddy bear's picnic in July.

Term 4

On Thursday 6th April the children from the Early Years and their families took part in a Spring scavenger hunt to win an Easter related prize. The children had to find items on the list from our conservation area to include:

  • 2 small stones, 1 big stone, a fallen leaf, a fallen brown leaf, a daisy, a feather, a fallen blossom petal, a long stick, a short stick, a fat stick, a thin stick

Lots of families took part, enjoying the Spring weather and eating biscuits decorated by the children. With your support we raised £27 for our EYFS which helps us to pay for activities in the EYFS such as playdough and cooking.

Term 2

EYFS TRIP TO ASHTON COURT

Reception and Nursery enjoyed a magical trip to Ashton Court Mansion last where we were lucky enough to feed Santa's reindeer. We were told that if we shouted loud enough on our walk down to the field, Santa and all his reindeer would come. After lots of calling, Santa himself brought the reindeer to us and handed us all some food to give them.

We then enjoyed our packed lunches in the warm before exploring some of the grounds and returning back to school or home.

Term 1

Nursery enjoyed a visit from the Bristol Playbus today. We learnt about the importance of play and learnt about the 20mph campaign in Bristol to keep us safe on the roads. We played with frisbees, balls, zebra crossing mats, construction materials, chalks and more.

We earnt a sticker and a prize for talking about and remembering what the 20mph speed limits in our city are for.

We have had a great time in Nursery so far this term.

We welcomed new friends and old back in September ready to explore all the learning that we can. We have explored colour mixing in different and interesting ways. We drove toy cars through the paint and watched as the colours in skittles mixed together. We have had a campsite in our role play area and our new café 'Petals' opened for business last week. We have made 'dirty porridge' for the 3 bears and investigated oats.

During Term 2 we will be having a Festival frenzy as we think about Diwali, Guy Fawkes and then Christmas.
