Welcome to Avonmouth C E primary School Nursery
We are excited to be back and looking forward to welcoming our New starters over the first few weeks of term.
The Nursery team are Liz, Pollyanna, Karen and Jo. We work closely together and are excited to be working with parents to guide children in our care through their first experiences of school.
We follow the ‘Development Matters’ curriculum. We learn in groups of different sizes, independent and adult led.
We learn inside and outdoors, wet and dry, tidy and messy, sitting down, standing up, running, skipping, hopping, playing, singing, talking, listening and whispering.
All of our learning is intended to be fun.

In Nursery this January we have started an exciting new venture.
We have some children staying with us all day. They have enjoyed their first few lunchtimes and have had enough energy for playing and learning ALL DAY.
Well done to the children. We are all excited about the developments in our nursery and look forward to a term of very happy lunchtimes.
We had a lovely morning at Kingsweston House in December.
Children enjoyed exploring the woods looking for Christmas pictures, making Christmas playdoh models and decorations and eating lunch in the beautiful surroundings of the vaulted dining room.
The highlight for all was a visit from a very special visitor who had a present for all.
Thankyou Santa for taking time out of a bust schedule and for the Nursery families for braving the weather and joining us.
We have had a wonderful first term in Nursery and all the children have settled in well. These are some photos of us enjoying the outdoor area.
We are excited to be back and looking forward to welcoming our new starters over the first few weeks of term. Children who have returned to us have already continued on their learning journeys.
We are all excited about our new milk and fruit ‘Snack Bar’. At the moment Karen is in charge but we are hoping that the children will be running it themselves in the coming weeks.
This term we will be playing and learning in all areas of our Nursery. We are hoping to become experts at tidying up. We currently have some very plain walls but with a room full of artists we are sure that this will not be the case for long.
Once all children are in and settled we will be publishing details of our sponsored event. Please watch the board in the classroom.
