British Values

At Avonmouth C.E Primary School we ensure that we teach British Values, as described by the Government as Democracy, The Rule of Law, Individual Liberty and Mutual Respect & Tolerance. Our Christian Values also complement and address these areas and underpin everything we do as a school.

In term 1 we have been looking at Democracy. We have held hustings where the candidates for House Captains were able to give speeches to their houses. Each house was able to choose their House Captain and Vice Captain through voting. Each class was then able to vote for their school councillors. We believe in giving pupils the opportunity to experience these values first hand. Alongside Democracy we have focused on Respect as our core value this term.
